Welcome to VicFolk, the Victoria University Folk Music Club.
We play and sing mostly traditional Irish and Scottish music. If you’re interested in playing or singing trad music, dancing or listening, get in touch, or keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates on events. We welcome folk musicians who’d like to put on participatory folk music events. You can also book our band to play at your event.
News: VicFolk has been invited to play at the Wellington Folk Festival over Labour weekend. We will receive a number of complimentary tickets to the festival in exchnage, so if you’re interested in taking part, please get in touch. Allocation of tickets will be decided by the club committee and dependent on participation in club events.
Our next events are:
— Practices and workshops throughout Trimester 2, running from 2 August to 23 August. Click here for directions to the usual practice room.
— The practice on 16 August will be a tin whistle workshop led by Pat Higgins. Resources for the workshop are available here.
