Welcome to VicFolk, the Victoria University of Wellington Folk Music Club

We play, dance to, and sing mostly traditional Irish and Scottish music. If you’re interested in playing or singing trad music, dancing or listening, get in touch, or keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates on events. We welcome folk musicians who’d like to put on participatory folk music events. You can also book our band to play at your event.

News:

CEILIDH CANCELLED: We have decided to cancel our Vicfolk St Patrick’s Weekend Ceilidh that was due to be held this Saturday 21st due to the health risks. Rest assured, we will be back with more ceilidh shenanigans as soon as it is safe to do so!

Our Thursday meetups are on a hiatus until it is safe to resume them.

Stay safe, stay well, and most importantly, stay where you are!

Our next events are:

Meet-ups and workshops throughout the Trimester, every Thursday 7-8:30pm during term time, at 86 Fairlie Terrace Room 006 (directions and info).

Here’s Vic Folk playing at International Dance Day at Te Papa in 2018. Thanks to Don Laing for the video! (More under ‘About VicFolk‘).
